Abstract

In this article an Arduino based multipurpose gardening assistance system for nurseries and rooftops has been described. The system consist a line follower robot equipped with different sensors (Infrared radiation (IR), moisture) and modules (Bluetooth, real time clock (RTC)) whereas ATmega32SP microchip-based Arduino UNO is used as the processor unit. The designed dual powered (solar and grid) three-wheel driven line follower robot can be controlled by smart phone via ArduiTooth, an application for Arduino Bluetooth remote controller. The developed semi-autonomous gardening assistance system can be used to supply water as per the needs of different plants. A single disease of leaf was selected for the work and all the process are designed to detect that disease. To detect the leaf spot disease using MATLAB, sample images are captured by a cheap action camera attached with the robotic arm whereas OKCAM app has been used to operate and download them.
