Robotics Applications at Airports: Situation and Tendencies

Abstract

With the development of aviation and the advancement of artificial intelligence technology, more and more airports and airlines have been trying to apply robotic technology in participating in the aviation support operation procedure at airports. To find out the development tendencies of robotics applications at the airport to provide partial help to practitioners engaged in the application of robots in aviation, this article has partially collected and sorted out the robot pilots carried out in the aviation industry in recent years, such as robots for parking service, passenger service, luggage handle, outdoor transportation, and other services at airports. The research results of this article show that most airports and airlines are applying robots in airports, the plague has strengthened this trend and changed the investment focus to automation of passengers, and the recent focus of robot applications is reducing human-to-human interactions.
