Abstract
The advances in mobile robotics can improve the possibility of autonomous displacement for people with disabilities. Many research projects have been led on this idea. The numerous prototypes and the various research topics are presented. Then the evolution of the VAHM* project, developed in our laboratory, is treated. Currently, in the aim of designing a really used system, we are developing a light and adaptable device with intuitive functionalities.
