Abstract
In hospitals and daily lives, a lot of patients have to carry certain medical equipment with them, this can include dragging it, wearing bag packs or strapping to themselves. Carrying such equipment is a necessity for recovery or survival, however, it is a cumbersome process. This hinders their daily activities and affects both, their physical and mental state. The objective of this paper is to tackle this problem. In this paper, we design a medical assistant robot which helps the patient in carrying medical equipment necessary for him. Our objective is to create a person following assistant which helps to drag this equipment and also provide support to the patient. This robot will take all the weight of the equipment and let the patient be free, and it will also provide support in terms of balance and assistance. It will make the patient independent and speed the recovery by improving their physical as well as mental state. It will autonomously follow the person using a unique color coded marker on them and avoid obstacles in its way. It will also function as an Internet of Things based medical reminder system.
