摘要

This essay discusses the manner in which machine aesthetics influenced early twentieth-century performance and then draws on contemporary philosophy of technology in order to consider how robots can be experienced as other and how ontological differences between robotic and human bodies are manifested in particular vulnerability relations. These points are then used to analyze two performance pieces that present the interaction of robots and human actors.
