About
Dr. Ziqiang Xu is a leading innovator in flexible electronics and human–machine interface technologies, with a primary focus on developing advanced nanocomposite sensors. His most notable contribution is the creation of a flexible bifunctional proximity-pressure sensor (FBPPS) based on EGaIn/silicon dioxide/PDMS nanocomposites, which simultaneously addresses the critical challenges of simple fabrication, structural flexibility, and accurate dual-mode detection. This work, published in 2025 and already garnering 6 citations, represents a significant step forward in enabling more intuitive and responsive human–machine interaction systems. Dr. Xu’s research bridges materials science and device engineering, demonstrating how liquid metal-based nanocomposites can be harnessed for practical, high-performance sensing applications. His sensor design offers a streamlined approach to integrating proximity and pressure sensing in a single, flexible platform, making it highly attractive for wearable electronics, soft robotics, and smart interfaces. With a growing citation record and a clear trajectory toward real-world impact, Dr. Xu is establishing himself as a key contributor to the next generation of flexible, multifunctional electronic systems.
