About

Dr. Zhongzhi Qin is a rising innovator in the field of rehabilitation robotics, with a focused expertise in the design and development of lower-limb assistive technologies. His primary research addresses critical gaps in patient mobility and therapeutic efficacy, specifically targeting the cumbersome nature and poor user adaptability of conventional rehabilitation robots. Dr. Qin’s major contribution is the conception and validation of a novel Single-Legged Lower-Limb Rehabilitation Robot (S-LLRR), detailed in his most-cited 2023 work (11 citations). This design dramatically simplifies the wearing process and enhances portability, making rehabilitation accessible without requiring patients to be moved to fixed equipment. Building on this, his 2025 work introduces a pioneering "Bio-Stimulated Semantic Analogy Fit Design" method, which uses biological excitation functions to optimize the interaction, comfort, and aesthetic fit of rehabilitation devices—a novel approach to solving the "insufficient design applicability" problem. Though early in his career, Dr. Qin’s work is already shaping a future where rehabilitation robots are not only more effective but also more intuitive and patient-centered.
