About

Zhao Yao is at the forefront of next-generation electronic skin (e-skin) technology, pioneering intelligent, flexible sensing systems that mimic and even surpass human tactile perception. His core research focuses on developing highly sensitive capacitive pressure sensors and multimodal sensing patches for applications ranging from material shape perception to health monitoring. Yao’s major contributions include the creation of a micropyramid array bimodal e-skin that integrates machine learning for advanced tactile intelligence, a breakthrough work that has garnered 116 citations.
