Yoshifumi Hatta is a researcher focused on the intersection of human factors, ergonomics, and educational technology, with a particular emphasis on telepresence robotics. His work addresses the critical challenge of supporting school education for students undergoing long-term medical treatment or experiencing school refusal. Hatta’s major contribution lies in empirically investigating the physical and ergonomic demands placed on students when using telepresence robots in real classroom settings. Specifically, his research has collected and analyzed head and neck angles, gaze information, and viewing distances across different educational activities—such as lectures, breaks, and hands-on exercises.
