About

Yazhen Xue is pioneering the development of stretchable mixed ionic–electronic conductors, a critical enabler for soft electronics and robotics. Her research addresses the fundamental trade-off between mechanical compliance and charge mobility in organic conductors. In her highly cited 2023 study, Xue introduced a novel strategy—size-selective ionic crosslinking—that allows these materials to stretch without sacrificing electronic performance.
