About
Xiaoxia Shang is a leading atmospheric scientist whose research focuses on aerosol remote sensing, mineral dust profiling, and the integration of lidar and sun-photometer measurements to understand atmospheric composition. Her major contributions include the development of the Mineral Aerosol Profiling from Infrared Radiances (MAPIR) algorithm, a state-of-the-art retrieval method that uses optimal estimation to derive vertical dust concentration profiles from IASI thermal infrared radiances.
