About

Wujie Dong is a rising leader in flexible electronics and advanced energy storage, whose work bridges materials science and practical device engineering. His research centers on two transformative areas: high-sensitivity piezoresistive electronic skins (e-skins) for wearable health monitoring, and crystallographic engineering of zinc metal anodes for next-generation batteries. In his highly cited 2023 study (46 citations), Dong introduced an ultrathin Mo₂S₃ nanowire network that achieves record-breaking sensitivity in breathable, flexible e-skins—enabling real-time human-health tracking and soft bionic robot perception. This work addresses a critical bottleneck in wearable electronics by combining high piezoresistive response with mechanical conformability. More recently (2024, 31 citations), Dong pioneered a molecular steric-hindrance strategy to texture the Zn (100) facet in aqueous zinc-ion batteries, dramatically suppressing dendrite growth and improving cycling stability. This molecular-level approach offers a scalable route to safer, longer-lasting energy storage. With his dual focus on bio-inspired sensors and battery anode design, Dong is shaping the future of human-machine interfaces and sustainable power systems.
