About
Walter Wohlkinger is a leading researcher in robotics and 3D computer vision, whose work has fundamentally advanced how robots perceive and interact with their environments. His primary research areas include 3D object recognition, robotic grasping, and assistive robotics for independent living. Wohlkinger made a landmark contribution with the development of 3DNet, a large-scale dataset of CAD models for object class recognition, which addressed the critical challenge of scaling recognition to hundreds of object classes without requiring extensive real-world training data.
