About

W.B. Crowley is a pioneering roboticist whose work has transformed the inspection and maintenance of critical urban infrastructure. His primary research areas include autonomous urban robotics, pipe inspection systems, and ruggedized platforms for hazardous environments. Crowley’s most significant contribution is the development of the Explorer™ family of pipe robots, which enable visual and nondestructive evaluation of live gas mains—a breakthrough that allows utilities to inspect thousands of feet of pipe with minimal excavation.
