About
Tsutomu Fujii is a leading Japanese surgeon and researcher whose work is at the forefront of minimally invasive surgical techniques, particularly in hepatobiliary-pancreatic surgery and hernia repair. His major contributions focus on reducing the most common and serious complications following pancreatic surgery. Notably, he is the principal investigator of the landmark WRAP Study, a nationwide multicenter randomized controlled trial in Japan investigating the efficacy of wrapping the pancreatic stump with polyglycolic acid mesh and fibrin glue to prevent clinically relevant pancreatic fistula after minimally invasive distal pancreatectomy.
