About
Toshihisa Matsui is a leading atmospheric scientist whose research centers on aerosol–cloud interactions, satellite remote sensing, and the integration of model simulations with observational data. His seminal 2004 study, “Regional comparison and assimilation of GOCART and MODIS aerosol optical depth across the eastern U.S.,” pioneered methods to compare and assimilate aerosol optical depth (AOD) products from the MODIS satellite instrument and the GOCART model, using ground-based measurements for validation.
