About
Dr. Tianrun Ye is a pioneering urologic surgeon whose research centers on nephron-sparing surgical techniques, particularly for renal cell carcinoma. His major contribution is the development and clinical validation of Ultrasound-Guided Renal Artery Balloon Catheter Occluded Hybrid Partial Nephrectomy (UBo-HPN), a novel approach that combines ultrasound guidance with balloon catheter occlusion to achieve branch-level renal artery clamping. This technique represents a significant advance over traditional hilar clamping, as it confines ischemia to the tumor-bearing segment, dramatically reducing warm ischemic injury to healthy kidney tissue.
