About
Sung‐Ho Shin is a leading figure in the development of next-generation flexible and transparent electronics, with a primary focus on pressure sensors and graphene-based devices. His most-cited work, "Integrated arrays of air-dielectric graphene transistors as transparent active-matrix pressure sensors for wide pressure ranges" (2017, 202 citations), represents a landmark contribution to the field. In this study, Shin pioneered the integration of air-dielectric graphene transistors with pressure-sensing arrays, creating a transparent, active-matrix system capable of detecting a remarkably wide range of pressures. This innovation directly addressed a critical limitation of existing sensors, which were often optimized for narrow, specific pressure ranges. By enabling both high sensitivity and broad applicability, his work has become a cornerstone for emerging technologies like electronic skins and wearable health monitors. Shin’s research elegantly combines materials science, device physics, and circuit design, demonstrating how graphene’s unique properties can be harnessed for practical, high-performance sensing platforms. His contributions continue to inspire efforts toward truly multifunctional, skin-like electronic systems.
