About
Shikai Jing is pioneering the convergence of advanced manufacturing and intelligent robotics, with key research areas spanning additive manufacturing of high-performance composites and human-robot collaborative assembly. His major contributions include the development of programmable multi-matrix continuous carbon fiber reinforced gradient composites, a breakthrough that enables the additive manufacture of materials with tailored, spatially-varying properties—a significant leap for lightweight, high-strength structural applications. This work has already garnered 13 citations since its 2024 publication, reflecting its rapid impact. In parallel, Jing addresses the complexities of human-centric manufacturing by proposing an autonomous human-robot collaborative assembly method driven by the fusion of large language models and digital twins. This innovative framework allows robots to autonomously understand human intentions during assembly, overcoming a critical barrier in flexible manufacturing. With 6 citations to date, this work demonstrates his ability to bridge artificial intelligence and physical production systems. Jing’s research not only advances material science but also redefines the boundaries of human-robot interaction, positioning him as a rising leader in next-generation manufacturing technologies.
