About

Dr. S. Sindico is a leading figure in the advancement of minimally invasive gynecologic oncology, with a primary focus on robotic surgery for endometrial and cervical cancers. Her pioneering work has been instrumental in validating the safety and efficacy of robotic single-site hysterectomy (RSS-H) as a treatment for low-risk endometrial cancer. In a landmark pilot study (2013, 59 citations), she demonstrated the feasibility of this approach, and her subsequent comparative analysis (2013, 57 citations) established RSS-H as a superior alternative to laparoendoscopic single-site surgery (LESS-H), offering patients reduced postoperative pain and improved cosmetic outcomes. Dr. Sindico has also made significant contributions to the management of locally advanced cervical cancer, showing that robotic radical hysterectomy following neoadjuvant chemotherapy is a viable, less morbid alternative to traditional chemoradiation (2016, 30 citations). Furthermore, she developed and described a novel robotic transperitoneal aortic lymphadenectomy technique (2012, 21 citations), expanding the surgical repertoire for staging gynecologic malignancies. Through her innovative techniques and rigorous clinical studies, Dr. Sindico has helped shape modern, patient-centered surgical care in gynecologic oncology.
