About
Rongxin Su is a leading researcher in the design of advanced functional hydrogels for flexible electronics and wearable sensors. His work centers on integrating natural nanomaterials—particularly cellulose nanofibers—with dynamic supramolecular chemistry to create materials that are both mechanically robust and highly sensitive. Su’s most cited study, “Adhesive hydrogels tailored with cellulose nanofibers and ferric ions for highly sensitive strain sensors” (2022, 78 citations), introduced a novel strategy for fabricating self-adhesive, conductive hydrogels that achieve exceptional strain-sensing performance through metal-ligand coordination. Building on this, his 2023 paper on organohydrogels with enhanced supramolecular interactions demonstrated how cellulose nanofibers can stabilize a water/glycerol system, yielding anti-freezing, self-adhesive sensing pads with remarkable durability. These contributions have positioned Su at the forefront of sustainable, bio-inspired materials for human–machine interfaces, soft robotics, and health monitoring. His work is widely cited for its elegant combination of green chemistry principles with practical device performance, offering a clear pathway toward next-generation, environmentally friendly wearable electronics.
