About
Paul Keall is a world-leading figure in the field of radiation oncology, renowned for pioneering real-time adaptive radiotherapy technologies that compensate for tumor motion during treatment. His research centers on motion management, image-guided radiotherapy, and the clinical translation of advanced tracking systems. Keall’s major contributions include spearheading the development of multileaf collimator (MLC) tracking, a technique that dynamically adjusts radiation beams to follow moving tumors in real time, as detailed in his highly cited 2019 work on intrafraction motion monitoring (219 citations). He also led the AAPM Task Group 264, establishing safety guidelines for clinical MLC tracking implementation.
