About

Norisato Mitsutake is a leading thyroid cancer researcher whose work has fundamentally advanced our understanding of the molecular mechanisms driving papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC). His research focuses on the role of RET/PTC rearrangements—key tumor-initiating events in PTC—and their downstream signaling pathways. In his highly cited 2003 study (26 citations), Mitsutake made a seminal contribution by identifying microsomal prostaglandin E2 synthase-1 (mPGES-1) as a RET/PTC-inducible gene.
