Liming Qin is a materials scientist whose research focuses on the development of advanced, multifunctional electrolytes for next-generation energy-storage devices, particularly for flexible and wearable electronics. Her major contributions lie in engineering intrinsically self-healable and environmentally resilient supercapacitors. In her highly cited 2017 work (230 citations), she pioneered a multifunctional hydrogel electrolyte that simultaneously achieves excellent self-healability and cold resistance, addressing a critical challenge for portable energy storage in low-temperature environments. This work demonstrated that a device could autonomously repair mechanical damage while maintaining high ionic conduction even in freezing conditions.
