Dr. K. Ackley is a leading figure in time-domain astrophysics, specializing in the detection of optical counterparts to gravitational-wave sources. As a key architect of the Gravitational-wave Optical Transient Observer (GOTO) project, Dr. Ackley has driven the design, construction, and commissioning of a global network of wide-field robotic telescopes.
