About
Jung-Woo Woo is a pioneering thyroid surgeon whose research focuses on advancing minimally invasive and robotic thyroidectomy techniques, particularly for thyroid carcinoma. His major contributions center on developing and comparing novel surgical approaches, including the bilateral axillo-breast approach (BABA) and transoral robotic thyroidectomy (TORT), to improve patient outcomes. Woo’s work has demonstrated that robotic thyroidectomy is both surgically safe and oncologically complete for tumors larger than 2 cm, a finding cited 58 times.
