Jeongsu Pyeon is pioneering the development of next-generation soft electronics, with a focus on liquid metal composites for neuromorphic circuits and stretchable electrodes. His major contributions center on overcoming the fundamental trade-off between stretchability and electrical stability in wearable devices. In his landmark 2024 work, Pyeon introduced a self-mixed biphasic liquid metal composite that achieves unprecedented strain-insensitivity—a mere 1.4% resistance change at 1200% strain—enabling neuromorphic circuits to function under extreme deformations. This highly cited paper (48 citations) has already influenced the design of data-driven wearable and robotic systems. Earlier, in 2022, he developed a self-sinterable gallium-based liquid metal ink for drop-casting, producing coffee-ring-free, bilayer-free electrodes with high conductivity and flexibility (11 citations).
