About
Dr. Jeffry Simko is a leading urologic pathologist whose research centers on improving prostate cancer diagnosis and surgical outcomes through innovative imaging and meticulous histopathologic analysis. His most impactful contribution is the first-in-human evaluation of IS-002, a novel near-infrared fluorescent small molecule targeting prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA). Published in 2023 and already garnering 35 citations, this landmark study demonstrated the safety and feasibility of using fluorescence-guided surgery during robotic-assisted prostatectomy for high-risk patients, offering a powerful tool to help surgeons achieve complete tumor resection and potentially reduce recurrence.
