About
J. Ohnsorge is a pioneer in computer-assisted orthopedic surgery, with a focused expertise in fluoroscopy-based 3D reconstruction for revision total hip replacement. Their major contribution lies in addressing one of the most challenging aspects of revision hip surgery: the safe and efficient removal of distal femoral bone cement. Ohnsorge developed a novel mathematical and imaging approach that reconstructs the three-dimensional volume of the PMMA cement plug using only a limited number of 2D X-ray images, thereby reducing the need for exhaustive intraoperative imaging and minimizing surgical risk.
