Ivan Berman is a pioneering researcher at the intersection of robotics, blockchain technology, and decentralized autonomous systems. His work fundamentally reimagines how robots and autonomous agents can participate in economic activity, moving beyond physical autonomy toward true economic independence. Berman’s most influential contribution is the development of blockchain-based communication protocols for multi-agent systems, most notably his 2017 paper on autonomous business activity for UAVs (126 citations), which established a framework for robots to make economically rational decisions and interact as market participants.
