Ian Ross is a leading researcher in the application of robotics to minimally invasive cardiac and head-and-neck surgery, with a career spanning nearly two decades. His foundational work on optimizing port placement for robot-assisted cardiac procedures (2007, 43 citations) established critical principles for ensuring that surgical robots can maneuver effectively within the chest, directly improving the safety and feasibility of endoscopic bypass surgery.
