About
F. Capaccioni is a leading planetary scientist renowned for his pioneering work in cometary science and infrared spectroscopy. His key research areas include the composition and evolution of cometary nuclei, the physics of planetary surfaces, and the development of advanced imaging spectrometers for space exploration. Capaccioni made his most significant contribution as the Principal Investigator of the VIRTIS instrument aboard ESA’s Rosetta mission.
