About

C. Leyrat is a planetary scientist whose research centers on the physical properties and composition of comets and small bodies, with a particular focus on thermal infrared spectroscopy and imaging. As a key contributor to the VIRTIS instrument aboard ESA’s Rosetta mission, Leyrat helped pioneer a unique technique combining three data channels in one compact imaging spectrometer to simultaneously study the nucleus and coma of comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko.
