About

Enrico Benedetti is a pioneering surgeon whose work has fundamentally reshaped minimally invasive and robotic approaches to complex abdominal procedures, with particular expertise in transplant surgery, hepatobiliary surgery, and pancreatic surgery. Over the course of his career, Benedetti has been instrumental in demonstrating that robotic technology can be safely and effectively applied to some of the most technically demanding operations in modern surgery. His landmark contributions include early adoption of robotic-assisted laparoscopic donor nephrectomy — work that garnered over 200 citations and helped establish minimally invasive living donor procurement as a clinical standard.
