About
Dongzhi Chi is a leading researcher whose work bridges the frontiers of materials science and artificial intelligence, with a primary focus on advanced functional materials and their device applications. His key research areas encompass two-dimensional (2D) materials, thermoelectrics, and the AI-driven design of metal-organic frameworks (MOFs). Chi’s major contributions include pioneering the exploration of low-symmetry 2D materials for energy conversion, notably demonstrating the high thermoelectric performance of palladium diselenide (PdSe₂), a material whose unique pentagonal lattice enables exceptional interlayer coupling and transport properties. This work, published in *Advanced Functional Materials* (2020), has opened new pathways for efficient thermal-to-electrical energy conversion.
