David Shimunov is a leading surgical oncologist whose research has fundamentally reshaped the treatment of oropharyngeal cancer, particularly in the era of human papillomavirus (HPV). His work centers on refining the use of transoral robotic surgery (TORS) to optimize oncologic outcomes while minimizing morbidity.
