Chyng-Lan Liang is a distinguished astrophysicist whose research centers on the detection and characterization of Kuiper Belt Objects (KBOs) through stellar occultation surveys. As a key contributor to the Taiwanese–American Occultation Survey (TAOS), Liang helped pioneer statistical methods for identifying these distant, icy bodies by monitoring thousands of stars with an array of robotic telescopes.
