About
Chad A. LaGrange is a pioneering urologic surgeon whose research has fundamentally advanced the safety, efficacy, and training paradigms of robot-assisted surgery. His work centers on three key areas: robotic system reliability, surgical skills assessment, and the expansion of minimally invasive techniques to complex patient populations. LaGrange’s landmark international survey on da Vinci system malfunctions during prostatectomy (61 citations) provided the first systematic evidence of intraoperative technical failures, establishing critical safety protocols adopted worldwide.
