About
Baoying Peng is a mechanical engineer whose research focuses on precision manufacturing and medical robotics. Her work addresses critical challenges in industrial automation and healthcare technology. In her highly cited study on NURBS interpolation for tangential point tracing grinding of eccentric shafts, she developed a novel X-C linkage grinding model that significantly improves the machining quality of sine eccentric shafts—key components in industrial robot RV reducers. This contribution has direct implications for the performance and reliability of robotic systems. More recently, Peng has ventured into medical robotics, conducting dimensional synthesis of a 6-DOF parallel robot (Stewart-Gough mechanism) for Intra-Operative Radiation Therapy. Her work aims to meet the demanding kinematic requirements of large range of motion, payload, and stiffness essential for precise radiation delivery. With a growing citation record, Peng demonstrates versatility in bridging traditional manufacturing with cutting-edge medical applications, establishing herself as an emerging researcher in both fields.
