Dr. A.J. Walton is a pioneer in microelectromechanical systems (MEMS), with a particular focus on bio-inspired robotics and microfluidic propulsion. His most celebrated contribution is the development of the first wireless-driven MEMS pond skater, a silicon-based swimming robot that mimics the water strider’s ability to float and move on liquid surfaces using surface tension.
