About
Siyang Hao is a rising leader in bio-inspired robotics and aerial locomotion, whose work bridges the gap between biological flight mechanics and engineered systems. Her primary research areas include flapping-wing aerodynamics, robotic biomimicry, and the study of bat and bird flight dynamics. Hao’s most notable contribution is her pioneering investigation into upstroke wing clapping in bats, as demonstrated in her highly cited 2025 paper, which reveals how this unique articulation generates efficient lift.
