Simon K. Wright is a pioneering pediatric head and neck surgeon whose work has fundamentally advanced the field of minimally invasive endocrine surgery. His research focuses on developing and refining robotic and endoscopic techniques to reduce surgical trauma in children, particularly for thyroid and parathyroid conditions. Wright’s landmark 2008 paper, “Bilateral transaxillary endoscopic total thyroidectomy” (113 citations), established a scarless, transaxillary approach that avoids a visible neck incision—a transformative contribution for pediatric patients.
