Mikkel Hjordt Holm Larsen is a Danish head and neck surgeon whose research has significantly advanced the evidence base for transoral robotic surgery (TORS) in the treatment of oropharyngeal cancers. His work spans oncological outcomes, surgical innovation, and perioperative care, establishing him as a notable contributor to minimally invasive head and neck oncology. Larsen has played a central role in evaluating TORS as an alternative to traditional radiotherapy for early-stage oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC), with his long-term survival studies and single-institution outcome data helping to validate its clinical adoption in Denmark since 2013.
