About
Luc Beaulieu is a leading figure in the evolution of brachytherapy, where his work bridges robotics, real-time imaging, and advanced dosimetry to enhance precision in cancer treatment. His core research focuses on integrating robotic systems and automation into brachytherapy, as highlighted by his leadership on the influential AAPM and GEC-ESTRO Task Group 192 report (96 citations), which established the first comprehensive protocol for validating image-guided robotic seed implantation. Beaulieu has pioneered novel catheter optimization algorithms using centroidal Voronoi tessellation (CVT) to streamline high-dose-rate (HDR) brachytherapy planning for prostate and breast cancers.
