Dr. Liu Ai-hua is a pioneering figure in the field of power transmission line (PTL) maintenance robotics, with a career dedicated to advancing automated inspection technologies for critical energy infrastructure. Her key research areas encompass robotic systems design, autonomous navigation, and fault detection for high-voltage power grids. Dr. Liu’s most notable contribution is her foundational work on the development of PTL maintenance robots at the Shenyang Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences (SIACAS), where she led efforts to replace hazardous manual inspections and helicopter-based monitoring with robotic solutions.
