About
Dr. Ellen Lyons is a pioneering cardiovascular surgeon whose work has advanced the treatment of complex coronary artery disease, particularly left main coronary stenosis. Her primary research focuses on hybrid coronary revascularization (HCR), a minimally invasive approach that combines surgical and percutaneous techniques to offer patients an alternative to traditional coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG). In her landmark 2011 feasibility study, which has garnered 20 citations, Dr. Lyons demonstrated that HCR could safely and effectively treat left main stenosis, challenging the long-standing paradigm that CABG was the only viable option.
