David Stulberg is a pioneering figure in orthopaedic surgery, best known for his foundational work in computer-assisted and robotic total knee replacement. His research focuses on improving surgical precision and implant alignment, which are critical for the long-term success of knee arthroplasty. Stulberg’s landmark 1998 paper, “Computer Assisted Knee Replacement,” with 346 citations, systematically demonstrated the limitations of traditional mechanical alignment guides and established the clinical rationale for adopting computer-assisted technologies. This work laid the groundwork for modern robotic surgical systems in orthopaedics.
