About
Chi-Wei Lin’s research has centered on structural health monitoring and vibration analysis of civil infrastructure, with a particular focus on developing system identification techniques for bridges. His most cited work, “Structural system identification for vibration bridges using the Hilbert–Huang transform” (2011), proposed a signal processing approach to extract dynamic characteristics from bridge vibrations, contributing to the field of non-destructive evaluation. However, this paper was retracted in 2013 following an investigation by the Journal of Vibration and Control and SAGE, which uncovered a peer review ring involving fabricated identities centered around Peter Chen at National Pingtung University of Education, Taiwan.
