Catherine Racowsky is a pioneering reproductive biologist whose work has fundamentally reshaped fertility medicine, most notably through her leadership in uterus transplantation (UTx). Her research centers on absolute uterine factor infertility (AUFI), a condition once considered an irreversible barrier to childbearing. Racowsky’s major contributions include advancing UTx from experimental animal models to a clinically viable human therapy, culminating in the landmark 2014 birth of a healthy baby after transplantation.
