Beatrice Lillaz is a pioneering Italian urologic surgeon whose work has been instrumental in establishing robotic-assisted laparoscopic surgery in Italy, particularly for pediatric and oncologic applications. Her research focuses on minimally invasive surgical techniques, with key contributions to robotic-assisted laparoscopic dismembered pyeloplasty (RALDP) in adolescents and robotic-assisted laparoscopic prostatectomy (RALP). In her landmark 2008 study, she reported the first Italian experience with RALDP in adolescents, demonstrating the feasibility and safety of this advanced technique in a pediatric population—a critical step in expanding robotic surgery beyond adult patients.
